Maungatapere Packing is a horticultural packing operation providing a variety of post-harvest and support services to Northland growers and producers. We specialise in blueberry post-harvest and kiwifruit flower milling services, and look to support the growth and development of the wider horticultural sector throughout Northland.
Our blueberry operation uses a state-of-the-art TOMRA Fresh packing line, with LUKAi artificial intelligence camera grading system using visible and near-infrared technology, and running two in-line punnet filling machines. This system enables us to efficiently grade and pack berries at up to 260 berries per second, delivering a flexible packing solution, whilst maintaining high quality standards and handling fruit carefully.
Our facility is run to the highest compliance standards and we can provide temperature and humidity control throughout the packing process. We are Safe Quality Food (SQF) certified for domestic and export markets, and also hold SEDEX, Kiwifruit Vine Health and NZ Food Act certification.
Maungatapere Packing also provides milling services to Northland kiwifruit growers looking to commercialise their male vines, and can market pollen on behalf of growers.
